more details coming soon!
Featuring Keynote Speaker, Senator Kesha Ram
Kicking off Prevention Day 2021, Prevention Works!VT invites you to participate in an advocacy training designed for prevention stakeholders:
Advocacy in a Virtual World
Wednesday, March 10th from 12 noon to 1:30pm
With remote meetings dominating the way business is done by legislators, learn how legislators are working online and how to be effective in this new “virtual Statehouse.” We’ll discuss the importance of building relationships with legislators, how to make the most of an opportunity to testify, and how to follow up with legislators and keep the conversation going after you have had a meeting or testified at a hearing. We’ll take a little tour of the legislative website so you can find what you need to engage in the process, and we’ll also talk about how to know when you are “lobbying.” Join us for this training so you will have the tools you need to be effective in this new environment. The training will be offered by Amy Shollenberger of Action Circles.
Who should participate? Prevention Coalition staff, members, leadership (steering committees and boards), youth, and all stakeholders.
