Our Lives Our Voices
Youth Empowerment Series
This series of online workshops, self-care activities, and physically-distanced social opportunities is for middle and high school teens in Burlington. Getting involved can help empower youth to be successful leaders and advocates for positive change in their communities. The series explores topics related to leadership, advocacy, community education, self growth, and positive decision-making. You’ll have the opportunity to meet and learn from amazing leaders who inspired important changes in their community…AND we’ll have a lot of fun while doing it!
We are all feeling a little stuck these days. There are so many new restrictions on who we can spend time with, where we can go, what we can do. Maybe you’re feeling restless and want to be able to contribute in a meaningful way to improve an injustice or problem you see but you don’t know how to get started or what to say. This workshop series will introduce you to other youth and young adults like you who discovered meaningful ways to use their voice to bring about the changes they wanted to see. You’ll also have opportunities to better understand your own talents and how you can best use them, as well as strategies to take-care of yourself during this challenging time.
AND…keep your eyes out for more details about our free physically-distanced outdoor social events that will happen each month at area locations! You might be getting used to the comforts of home but we think we could all do with a few more chances to see REAL people IN PERSON!
