Farewell For Now, But Not Good-bye

This year BPHC suffered a devastating loss when funding cuts forced us to eliminate our key position of Associate Director and most importantly, our amazing staffer in that position, Bianka Çimrin. Bianka was a dedicated employee and a passionate advocate for prevention since she started working with BPHC in January of 2023. We are so grateful for the energy, creativity, and commitment she brought to our work and to the Burlington community during her time with BPHC. She will be dearly missed.

This fall we also said farewell to two members of BPHC’s Advisory Board. Kym Asam served on the board since January 2024 as the representative to our Fiscal Agent, NFI Vermont and she helped to advocate for the staff and work of our coalition to ensure we can continue our mission to prevent substance misuse in Burlington. We wish Kym the best in her next phase.  Our long time board member Megan Peek also recently stepped down after 10+ years on the board. We are so grateful to Megan for how she was an unwavering advocate for the work of BPHC and our staff. As board chair she was just the cheerleader, guide, and steadfast supporter we all needed, showing up to lend a hand at our events, advocating for funding for substance use prevention in Burlington, and donating her own time, resources, and boundless optimism to support our work.

All three of these amazing humans have left a positive mark on BPHC and we know they will continue to support our mission in how they positively impact the community each day.  If you want to learn more about how you can support our mission to positively impact the causes and consequences of substance misuse in Burlington, volunteer, donate or reach out to us at this link: Connect with Us | Burlington Partnership for a Healthy Community.
